The regeneration scheme is set to improve the city centre
Planning consent has been granted for the first phase of City Park Gate, a mixed use brown field urban regeneration scheme in Birmingham, UK, for client Quintain Estates and Development plc.
Engineering consultancy Buro Happold is working in collaboration with architects Make on the Masterplan and Associated Architects on Phase 1 to create a vibrant public space with the emphasis on a safe, accessible and attractive environment.
The scheme totals over one million sq ft and Phase 1 will provide office space and public realm, with future phases planned to include apartments, retail units, a hotel, bars and restaurants.
Planning officials were unanimous in their decision to grant consent as they feel the potential benefit both socially and economically to the city will be immense as the scheme will create a major gateway into Eastside, Birmingham’s new learning, technology and heritage quarter.
