ARAD design a production plant in Tehran, Iran which attempts to change traditional construction systems
The Paykar Bonyan panel factory is a 3,700 sq m production plant. There is a 500 sq m management building with a VIP suit and receptions that are connected to the main building with a bridge. The ancillary building with 200 sq m area is separate in the site. The project consists of a factory that contains a prefabricated building system production plant plus an office & ancillary building. The site location is an industrial city for non-polluting factories, 35 kilometers away from Tehran, Iran. The client goal was to change the traditional construction system to an industrial building system which can fulfill the enormous demand of construction in Iran. The client, therefore, wanted the factory to be indicative of this goal in terms of architectural quality in industrial building systems with no resemblance to traditional factories in Iran. This project has been shortlisted for the 2008 World Architecture Festival Awards.
