Klein Dytham architects create an exciting office space in a former bowling alley
Whilst respecting the original fundamentals of a conventional work space, the office expresses an unusual spatial organization. The narrow layouts recall the past use of a bowling alley and bring back the character of the space.
The outside freedom of a park is brought into the office by walkways made with decking, large-scale gardens, relaxing shaggy carpets, and exterior furniture normally used on terraces. The matte black gallery wall contrasts greatly with the colour of the advertisement which contrasts with the sharp white floor.
Some of the walls exhibit the company’s advertising campaigns and the project shares the creativity of the agency. An ambiance of excitement is created in the space where creative people and goods all come together and employees can experience the space and freely interact with the visitors.
This project has been shortlisted for the 2008 World Architecture Festival Awards.
