Latest images show TV and Sightseeing Tower is taking shape as topping off is imminent
As one sporting competition ends in China, another is set to take over and there is no time to let the dust settle before the 2010 Asian Games. The Guangzhou TV and Sightseeing Tower is the symbol of development preceding the Games and the latest images show it is well under way and likely to reach its late 2009 deadline.
Topping off at +460m will take place at the end of August with work continuing 24 hours a day seven days a week weather depending.
Standing with an elongated egg-timer shape the lattice design includes a 180m long sky walk where visitors can literally climb the outside of the tower. The subdivided interior of the tower will be brimming with amusements and facilities too including a 4D cinema and a play-hall as well as the functional radio and TV transmission facilities which will get optimum use during the games. Conference facilities, shops, revolving restaurants and a viewing deck at the towers highest level will also be incorporated. Niki May Young News Editor
