About the awardsThe WAN AWARDS Interiors + Design Sector is a major international competition, and runs alongside our 6 bi-monthly 'Excellence in Design' series for 2010. There are two categories:
1. Interior Projects EligibilityThe Interiors + Design Sector covers all interior design projects and products. If you have designed a project or interior product that has been completed during the last three full calendar years, (on or after January 1st 2007), you can now enter for the WAN AWARDS Interiors + Design Sector 2010. What's included in this sector?Any interior design projects that meet the above entry criteria can be entered for the WAN AWARDS 2010 Interior + Design Sector, project category. This includes all sectors such as education, healthcare, civic, transport, commercial, retail, residential and cultural. Any interior design products that meet the above entry criteria can be entered for the WAN AWARDS 2010 Interior + Design Sector, products category. This includes furniture, lighting, decor, wall fixtures, interior accessories and exhibits. Judging criteriaThe jury will judge entries on a number of factors including originality, innovation, form, usability, use of colour, and any other specific qualities put forward in the entry. PromotionThe WAN AWARDS are gaining interest from local, national and international media around the world and is increasingly becoming a major talking point of the global architectural community - a fact proved by the visitors to the WAN website which serves over 9 million page impressions per month. In addition, selected entries may be published in News Review, WAN's weekly focus on architecture (published to a subscription base of over 150,000 architects, developers and consultants) during the awards to generate even more exposure for participants. Each week, our editorial team will choose one project from the pool of entries to be our Interior Design Project or Product of the Week'. (Please be aware that if either your project or product is chosen for this feature this does not automatically enter you through to the long list of 25 projects, this is a separate judging process.) Past winners have reported that the WAN AWARDS' high profile and the publicity they received have contributed noticeably to their business success. The competition stagesA long list of 25 entries will initially be selected after the closing date, further details of the entry: designs, drawings, plans, sections, elevations and more technical information will then be requested from these entrants. From the 25, a shortlist of six will be selected before an overall winner is chosen. The winning entry will receive a 12 month subscription to WAN's Tender Alert service (current value £1,250) and an award certificate. The remaining five from the shortlist and any other schemes that the judges deem suitable will be listed as "commended". All entries will be published on WAN and the winner and shortlisted entries will be featured in a special edition of News Review which reaches over 145,000 property developers, architects, consultants and organisations in 210 countries. Submission Format & Guidelines
The format for the initial submission is as follows: DeadlineThe closing date for the WAN AWARDS Interiors + Design Sector is 31 December 2010. CostThe entrance fee is £350 but an early registration price of £295 GBP/$0 USD/$0 AUD/$0 CAD/ 0 EURO available for entries made before 15th November 2010. How to enter:You are invited to submit your entry online - you can do this via the 'Visit Backstage' button on the WAN homepage: www.worldarchitecturenews.com If you are already registered you will be able to click "login" and use your existing registration code and password. If you are registering for the first time you will need to click the "register" button and complete the registration form. You will then be sent a registration code and password by email, which you can use to log in to "Backstage".(Please check your spam folder if you do not receive this immediately.) Once logged in, you can submit your entry using the "Purchase Award Credits" link on the left side of the login page - use the drop-down menus to select the Interiors + Design sector, category and number of projects you wish to enter - then click "Submit" - this will re-direct you to the online payment screen. When the payment is complete, click 'continue' to return to Backstage. You will then have the option to upload your project as a competition entry (another link will appear on the left of the login page.) Alternatively, if you prefer, you can submit your project by email and send payment by cheque or bank transfer. We will send you an invoice with all the details you need to make payment.
