In all likelihood, you are unaware of the most important facts involving the destructions of the World Trade Center buildings. Nearly all the mainstream information sources and government officials have kept crucial information hidden from the public. This brief article will provide a clear explanation as to what actually happened to the Twin Towers and Building 7 (WTC 7) on September 11, 2001.

World Trade Center – Building 7
47-storey WTC 7 before destruction
WTC 7 was a 47-story steel-framed high-rise 100 yards from the North Tower. Even though no airplane hit it, it collapsed rapidly and totally on 9/11, in the manner of a controlled demolition. Despite its suspicious collapse, the 9/11 Commission report does not even mention WTC 7. NIST left its analysis of the WTC 7 collapse until 2008, seven years after the events, long after all the rubble was destroyed. NIST claims WTC 7 collapsed due to “normal office fires” which created a “new phenomenon” in high-rise catastrophes: collapse caused by thermal expansion of beams. NIST claims this caused the failure of a single column – the rest just followed.
Free-fall acceleration through 40,000 tons of structural steel?
NIST Forced to Acknowledge Free-Fall of WTC 7
In August 2008, NIST released the draft of its final report on Building 7. In that draft NIST claims that the building took 40% longer than "free-fall time" to collapse the first 18 stories. In a technical briefing that followed the release of the draft report Shyam Sunder, NIST’s lead investigator, denied that free-fall had occurred and stated that free-fall was incompatible with their analysis. He said, “… a free
fall time would be an object that has no … structural components below it...And that is not at all unusual because there was [emphasis in original] structural resistance that was provided in this particular case. And you had … a sequence of structural failures that had to take place and everything was not instantaneous.”
However, one of this article’s co-authors, David Chandler, used video analysis to show conclusively that for 2.5 seconds (about 100 feet) WTC 7 was in complete free-fall. He publicly challenged NIST’s claims at the technical briefing and he, along with others, filed formal requests for corrections.
NIST were forced to reverse themselves in their Final Report and acknowledged 2.25 seconds of absolute free-fall. Yet they did not reconsider how this was compatible with their analysis. A network of heavy steel girders had to be forcibly removed suddenly across the width of the building for eight floors. However, a free-falling object cannot exert force on anything in its path without slowing its own fall, so the structural support had to be removed by something else—explosives. The free-fall of Building 7 is a smoking gun.
World Trade Center – Commonalities in all Three Building Destructions
Complete Destruction Through the Path of Greatest Resistance
NIST claims that the Twin Towers collapsed due to the plane impacts and fire, and that WTC 7 collapsed due to fire alone. However, note that the Twin Towers survived the plane impacts and the jet fuel burned off in the first 10 minutes. Beyond that, all we have are not very large office fires. Over 100 steel framed buildings have suffered major fires, many much worse, yet none have collapsed. All three buildings on 9/11 fell through what should have been the path of greatest resistance – thousands of tons of steel – resulting in total dismemberment. This would require precisely timed removal of critical columns, which office fires cannot accomplish. Furthermore, a small falling top section would destroy itself before it could destroy a larger, stronger, undamaged lower section of the building. The impossible collapse is a smoking gun.
Molten Iron
The temperatures of the fires present a problem for NIST's claim that fire alone was involved. The melting point of steel is about 2800° F. According to NIST's own documents, hydrocarbon fires (e.g., jet fuel and office furnishings) generate temperatures only up to about 2,000° F under ideal conditions. NIST recognizes these fires could not melt steel, so they had to postulate elaborate mechanisms that might trigger collapse due to weakened columns and sagging girders.
Yet there is widespread evidence of molten iron in the rubble piles. Photos and numerous witnesses -- including fire fighters, cleanup crews, and structural engineers -- confirm the existence of several tons of molten metal under the debris. Some fire fighters described molten steel flowing like lava. Photos clearly reveal molten metal dripping as material is being lifted by excavation equipment.
Office fires are not hot enough to create the molten metal seen by dozens of witness
A video of the South Tower shows molten metal pouring out, glowing a radiant orange-yellow. Some have claimed this is molten aluminum, which melts at a lower temperature, but molten aluminum would be silvery in these conditions. This is molten iron or steel.
Jet fuel and office fires can’t create molten iron
At least three independent laboratory analyses of the dust that blanketed Lower Manhattan after the destruction of the Twin Towers reveal the presence of iron-rich “microspheres.” These spheres are formed when molten iron is sprayed into the air and forms droplets that cool before hitting the ground. The iron droplets indicate temperatures during the collapses much higher than hydrocarbon fires, in an explosive environment that could spray many tons of these droplets into the
air.

In April 2002, the RJ Lee Company was hired to investigate environmental contaminants in the Deutsche Bank, across the street from the World Trade Center. It reports, “Many of the materials, such as lead, cadmium, mercury and various organic compounds, vaporized and then condensed during the WTC Event.” The problem here is that lead vaporizes at 3200° F, some 1200° F hotter than is possible in hydrocarbon fires. A study of the WTC dust by the USGS for the EPA observed molybdenum-rich spheres that can form only above 4750° F. The high temperatures are another smoking gun.
Unignited Nano-Thermite in the WTC Dust
NIST did not even look for physical evidence of explosives. In fact NIST did not look at the physical evidence at all, apart from a few selected samples of the steel. The rest was destroyed. However, physical evidence did remain: the dust. NIST did not look at the dust, but independent investigators did. They discovered, along with the microspheres, tiny red-grey chips. They examined samples of WTC dust from different parts of Manhattan. All contained the red-gray chips. They found that the red layer consisted of unignited nano-thermite. Ordinary thermite is an incendiary: it can burn through heavy steel in seconds. The tiny particles in nano-thermite (1/1000 the thickness of a human hair) causes a much faster reaction so it can be used as a high explosive. The discovery of nano-thermite in the WTC dust was published in The Open Chemical Physics Journal in April 2009.

Nano-thermite particle sizes are 1,000 times smaller than a human hair. This material is not made in a cave in Afghanistan.
These scientists found not just a smoking gun, but a loaded gun.
Independent lines of evidence prove the official government claims are impossible. We see our role at AE911Truth as exposing the evidence official agencies and the corporate media are covering up. Following up on the implications is the responsibility of every citizen. To claim that the democratically elected government of the United States deliberately crashed crowded jet airliners into the World Trade Center in order to blame it on Muslims is beyond stupid and disgusting. For Architects and or Engineers to do so (or believe it) is even worse. Gage's views are not only bone-headedly stupid and factually incorrect, they are morally repugnant. Richard Gage and his organization should be shunned by the respectable portions of the profession. His writings are not fit to line the bottom of a birdcage.
The force of the aeroplanes hitting the buildings was of course tremendous, but not in relation to the size and strength of the structure.
The US has a long inglorious history of manufacturing incidents to start wars of convenience (Gulf on Tonkin, etc).
We all know that Bush was not in control, just a face for a collection of private interests.
Finally, stranger things have happened than a government killing a few thousand plebs for whatever ends they felt were worthy.

Looking at the video's at the end of the article in particular you can clearly see the lines of explosions (not collapses) uniformly across the building (not in any relation to any damage the planes would have caused) You can also see some 'squibs' further down from the explosion lines, which are planted explosive going off slightly ahead of schedule (which is common in other controlled demolitions)
It is also VERY INTERESTING to note that those who call this article 'hogwash' have not actually argued against any of these facts presented, and launched straight in to a conspiracy theory argument, ignoring all evidence and going straight to asking why the American government would do such a thing. I can only assume there is no attempt prove this evidence wrong because the evidence is in fact correct!

The debunking you so adamantly refer to has itself been thoroughly debunked. Sorry, pools of glowing molten metal in the bases were not molten aluminum for all the debunkers would have you believe. They were molten steel/iron. The government was even caught lying saying that there was no molten iron, when there are scores of credible eye-witness testimony that there in fact was molten steel in the bases of the buildings. Why lie about that? Probably because their is not a credible explanation, so the best course of action is to pretend the evidence doesn't exist.
And this is but a tiny fraction of the covered-up evidence. At this stage, there's so much evidence that not having a new investigation would be a crime in and of itself.
The Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth should be applauded for their efforts to expose the obvious controlled destruction of the twin towers and WTC7 on 9/11. The problem is that people keep urging the government (the very entity who pulled it off) to 'investigate'. 1, it'll never happen, at least not in any meaningful or fruitful manner and 2, the must be a completely independent investigative body - not governmental not FBI, not affiliated at all with the likely suspects. Given that, the question becomes "HOW?"
The answer, of course is that "they" know this is the conundrum and will simply stall for decades. It's the same tactic pulled with the Kennedy's.

When I watched WTC7 fall years after 9/11 I was puzzled. It took me 6 months of research to come around to Gage's viewpoint and I resisted strongly but the facts speak for themselves.

There was also Operation Gladio, AKA "The Strategy of Tension", a NATO operation which saw the bombing of train stations and other civilian targets in Western European countries during the Cold War by far right groups with connections to WW11 Nazis, and these bombings were publicly blamed on far left radicals and underground communist revolutionaries in order to demonize Western European leftists and communists and hinder their chances of winning in elections. US Columnist Sydney Schanberg made a very astute observation when writing about the runup to the first Gulf War. The NIST essentially called Larry Silverstein, the Aug 2001 buyer of the WTC complex a liar. Larry Silverstein had admitted "regrettably" to "pull"[ing] WTC7.

Fo those new to the consideration that the official story is false, all you need to do is be open minded and prepared to look, if you do that you are 95% of the way to truth.
We know parts of what happened but we do not know by whom and why. Now that is the next part of the investigation that is needed and indeed, does lead to some interesting theories. Then again, a police crime invstigation usually commences with a theory or two that are examined, no matter how way out they might seem at the time. Every day in Courts throughout the world, a prosecutor puts a 'conspircay theory' to a jury because there is no direct evidence of the substantial crime. The prosecutor has to rely on circumstantial evidence. If the jury accepts that evidence, then they may find a conspircay proven.

One doesn't need the peer-reviewed evidence of nanothermite (discussed extensively and seriously by the mainstream and science media of several European countries, but completely hush-hushed by the US corporate media closely connected to the overblown military-industrial complex and the highly lucrative "war on terrror") in WTC dust samples to see that random office fires cannot bring about the same results as controlled demolition.
It still amazes me how ignorant people are. First they claim it would be impossible to plant all those explosives to bring down a building, yet a simple office fire can do it so quickly and symmetrically. If memory serves me correct 78 floors of undamaged structural steel was left supporting the hollowed out plane impact area. That structure would have at least stopped or at worst slowed down the collapse of the top section. Free fall speed or any where near it is physically impossible. The buildings were clearly controlled demolition. So who rigged the buildings? Al Queda? Or sophisticated military black ops?

I applied his math to the Towers and found that they could not have collapsed in less than about 14 seconds simply due to the static mass of the intact structure being impacted from above by a falling block of floors (the calculations assume ZERO structural strength).
When you add back in the enormous structural integrity of the Towers, PLUS all the enormous energy sinks that are observed, it becomes obvious that there were violations of physical law in the building collapses.
For the top of the building to fall at an acceleration of 9.81 m per second per second, as confirmed by NIST, the thousands of tons of structural steel and concrete beneath the upper part of the building had to be literally blasted out of the way of the falling mass.

Then, all the speculative mental chatter concerning, "how could they?", or "too many people would've been involved", recedes into irrelevancy, leaving one important question. "Now that I understand, what can I do to help rectify such an appalling injustice?"
It is not insane to believe that explosive charges can blow up buildings and other structures. In fact, such a belief is well-founded. When a crime is committed it is important to examine the evidence before coming to conclusions. That is what Richard Gage, Steven Jones, David Ray Griffin, Paul Thompson and others have done. What's the motive?

Of course, providing a motive can always be helpful in obtaining a conviction. However, the broad motive behind 9/11 was to help bring to fruition all aspects of the neo-con foreign and domestic policy. 9/11 helped to remove all serious ideological and political opposition to them. . Yet somehow that building, the 47 Story Solomon Brothers office complex, collapsed in a perfectly symmetric fashion directly into its own footprint around 5:45 PM or exactly twenty minutes after CNN and the BBC reported that it had ALREADY collapsed. .

The government would have us believe that the masterminds of the operation pulled off the most daring, most devastating, terror attack in history...only to hide and try to deny responsibility? The next suspicious thing was the fact that WTC2 fell down only 56 minutes after it was struck. Well that's simply not enough time for "fire" to heat much of anything up. Apparently the NIST fire simulation relies on burning jet fuel to spread the fire around quickly (assuming there's enough oxygen available in the first place which is also problematic). Yet the video evidence of the impact of Flt. 175 shows a cloud of fuel mist that had to be at least 70 feet in diameter at the instant it ignited (judging against the adjacent 208 ft wide building)...well I'm sorry but assuming a lower flammability limit of about 0.3% by volume, that 70 to 80 ft. spheroid of jet fuel mist essentially accounts for *all* the fuel on the plane, not 60% of it as I believe NIST claimed.
So NIST's fire simulation is wrong and everything else is wrong, and when the firefighters reached the 78th floor, the whole plan was in danger of being exposed so the murderers brought the building down then.
And the more you look, the more obvious the fraud becomes, perfectly reflecting the arrogance of the perpetrators and their contempt for the public intellect.

Americans are brain washed into believeing that being born on a certain spot of land makes you a better person even to a larger degree maybe than hitlers people were. 1) Emotionally strong language - this is something that does not lend itself to reason.

Point 1 is defeatist. After all, if you can't use intellectual rigor, resort to emotion-charged words and win some points with morons. But, you won't win points thru reason.
Point 2 makes about as much sense as this. Denying that a bullet-ridden man was actually murdered because motive is not known. More than this, there was motive. The war with Afghanistan was planned well before 9-11 and the Patriot Act was written before it as well. PNAC doc's said there would need to be "a new Pearl Harbor."

Even NIST now admits that, "the damage from the debris from WTC 1 had little effect on initiating the collapse."
Of course the diesel fuel for WTC 7's emergency generators was something that seemed to have some promise, but no. They state that, the diesel fuel "played no role in the destruction of WTC 7," and that it was "the first known instance of fire causing the total collapse of a tall building," and that they were "similar to fires experienced in other tall buildings."

Any debris from the towers impacting Building 7 would have hit its south side, and any columns damaged by it would almost certainly be perimeter columns on its south side. Any fuel tank explosion would only be able to damage nearby structure. The rapid fall-off of blast pressures with distance from the source would preclude any such event from breaking all of the columns in the building.

These calculations prove that the towers should have survived the structural damage inflicted on them by the impact of Flights 11 and 175.

Later I started to be find myself in conversations invariably with non-engineers who in whispers would ask for my opinion to help them with their own suspicions. If you recall, Donald Rumsfeld on 9-10-2001 said that trillions were missing from the "Pentagon Beuracracy" and that the "enemy is closer to home". Airplanes were hijacked by Arab terrorists. They deliberate flew them at high speed into buildings full of people. The buildings and jet fuel burned for a long time. The steel trusses deflected, and the floors collapsed. The structures fell down.

I would consider Mossad to be a major suspect. An organisation with sufficient logistics, people and funding to pull this off, even allegedly having people working inside the US government system. There were Israelis arrested on that day in connection, but later released. The Israeli Spy Ring Investigation the FBI was proceeding with in 2001, right up until September 11, was dropped when this bigger issue arose.
Mossad has motive aswell. Bringing terror home to the American populace helps remind Americans of what Israelis have to deal with all the time. It creates a pro Israeli attitude in the US, and the US provides helpful foreign policy and support during Israeli campaigns in the middle east.
The hijackers might have thought they really were on their mission. Their visas into the US were facilitated by CIA operatives, even after US diplomatic objections. The systems that stood in the terrorists way conveniently allowed them access on that day, from actual reports about the terrorists domestic activity ignored or supressed, through to all the defensive forces being on "wargame" exercises hundreds of miles away. Getting the planes into the buildings may have been achieved by baiting insane extremists bent on jihad and then opening the door and removing the obstacles.
Perhaps a bigger point is not to get too tied up in the "The US government did it". That's one suspect, but there are many others. The US government may look guilty, but may only be trying to cover their asses from their gross incompetence in preventing the events. Focus on the facts, such as there are remnants of explosives whose mass spectrometer fingerprint match that of commercial grade thermite.
Everyone needs to keep an open mind and keep questioning the event. I don't know what happened, but I believe what I see and I trust in science, and these don't gel well with the official story. I think the 9/11 Commission Report has large portions missing and other portions comprised of utter fiction. You are right but in WTC1/2 all the underlying stories of structural steel is not weakened by the fires and yet it gives way like shattered crystal. Also for WTC 7 NIST now claims that one column not impacted by the debris was heated for 6 hours (by what) and gave way a the entire building then collapse at free fall speeds. Wow I did not know steel framed building were so fragile. First off the WTC1/2 were both had elevator repairs. The elevators are in the center where all the steel center columns are exposed. Second radio controlled explosives do not require wires. Just sit on top of an out of service elevator and go very third floor and use spray on sawlgel Nano thermite and the radio controlled device. "Controlled demolition" is the thread that when you pull it unravels the whole "911 official conspiracy theory".
If controlled demolition is true, which available evidence proves beyond a reasonable doubt (Fire and gravity alone can not account for the energetic release, and free-fall accelerations exhibited by the 3 towers during their brief destructive phases, explosive residue is present in dust samples), then it seems highly unlikely that the true conspirators would leave the critical task of flying the planes into the towers in a precise way to chance (ie. in the hands of lap-dance-partaking "Islamic fundamentalists"). People are unpredictable, and the entire operation would have been jeopardized had even one "terrorist" missed a connection or got cold feet. The planes HAD TO hit the buildings to provide the "reason" for their ultimate collapse.
Far more likely is that the "terrorists" were dupes who were working for treasonous individuals within monitoring intelligence agencies. Their activities managed to provide a plausible back story, and their positions ultimately coordinated in a way that would place them at the scene of the crime. There is no shortage of reporting that supports this.
Also far more likely that the planes that struck the towers were controlled remotely so there would be no error. Again, the technology existed then, and was widely reported in airline industry journals.
Search engine Aidan Monaghan's research on 911blogger. He documents coincidental pre-9-11-01modifications to the towers in the subsequent impact areas, and remote flight control technology. Kevin Ryan also documents the tenants of the impacted floors and their coincidental connections.
Kevin Ryan has answered your very good question before, Scott. Basically, he explains that it likely didn't matter where the planes hit as no doubt the entire buildings were rigged for demolition. But the collapses/demolitions certainly had to start at the impact zones. Anything different would have been clear and distinct evidence of an inside job.

If the buildings supposedly collapsed due to structural failure as a result of the fires, why wasn't there mounds of rubble 400ft high and why was nearly everything turned dust in the near free-fall speed of the collapse? Congratulations to WAN for having the strength to publish this article.
Look, the fact is that NIST tried to refute free-fall, then turned around and admitted free-fall. They have yet to explain how they initially stated that Building 7 took 40% longer that free-fall time to collapse, even though there is no video evidence to support that. In fact, video evidence seems to refute that assertion. They couldn't even get there own computer models to replicate the collapse of this building. Or even come close. We are talking about a 47 story steel-framed building reduced to a pile of rubble in 7 seconds. We are talking about two 110 story buildings designed to take a hit from a fully loaded 707 being destroyed in a way that defies logic. A smaller top section of ten floors completely destroying a lower section of almost a HUNDRED floors. How does a 10 story building crush a 100 story building? And in such a dramatic way? Its 30 ton steel columns being ejected hundreds of feet, on all four sides of the building at the same time, floor by floor. Building 7 was supposedly hit by a massive amount of debris. It stood 300 feet from the North Tower. NIST offers no explanation as to how 30 ton columns could have been ejected 300 feet, let alone how 10 stories crushes almost 100 stories. It's been 8 years and they still can't explain it. Can't explain what is not physically possible.
The architects who designed the WTC specifically engineered the building to withstand the impact of a jetliner. Yet, the engineering failed not once, but twice, plus a bonus third time regarding WTC7. Very strange.
Now, the BEST arguments I have heard against controlled demolition are: 1) Such an operation would require large numbers of people to carry out. Surely by now, an "insider" would have come forth and blabbed. But no insiders have "sung" yet. And then, there is 2) Isn't this a rather elaborate way to get Americans behind two pointless, empire-building wars? Wouldn't a "false flag" operation involving, say, the poisoning of a water supply, have been accomplished with fewer actors, and with greater ability to keep the lid on? I can think of a lot of ways of killing thousands of people that are a lot less complex than flying airplanes into buildings that have been specially prepared with thermite. Way, way too intricate.
Nonetheless, the evidence of the collapses themselves is very telling. Very, very strange!

Calling for the Fox to investigation the missing hen-house chickens only benefits the Fox. When one considers 'who benefited'... it's pretty simple. The clue is the melting engine blocks and metal as the smoke cloud came down on all the parked cars. You'll notice that only metal was melting and all the paper was not burning.

They used a chemical to "melt" the metal inside the building. When the smoke cloud came down, anything in the clouds way with a metal base basically melted in plain site.
