All curtain wall systems are on ArchiExpo
World Architecture News invites you to discover ArchiExpo, the Online International Architecture and Design tradeshow, displaying design products including curtain walls, fixing systems, as well as an extensive range of building materials from glass to polycarbonate sheet.
Fixing systems for curtain walls
The fixing system and method of assembly chosen for the curtain wall may be influenced by factors such as its structural behaviour, technical requirements, complexity of the form and visual impact. When using the stick system, individual components such as the panels and profiles for curtain walls are fixed together on site reducing transport costs but increasing execution time and labour.
Curtain wall panels
The choice of curtain wall panel has a large influence on the appearance, level of daylighting as well as the interior comfort of the building. When selecting panels for a lightweight facade, consider properties such as its thermal resistance, opacity and strength. Although a curtain wall is non-load bearing building envelope, it still needs to support its own weight and be capable of resisting forces such as wind loads and seismic forces among others.
Glass-panels may be used for a wide variety of products including shelters, windows, partitions, or even be used as structural supporting elements. The properties of the panel (such as toughness, shatter and thermal resistance) may vary to meet building regulations and design requirements. Varieties such as tempered safety glass shatters into small blocks rather than shards if broken, reducing the risk of injuries.
