Death sparks uncertainty for Moscow icon. On Sunday 5th February 2006, Viktor Melnikov died at the age of 91, leaving the house built by his father, the great architect Konstantin Melnikov, to the Russian state, as well as his archive. Viktor had safe-guarded the house ever since his father died in 1974.
