We are pleased to invite you to participate in the WAN 2010 Survey of Salary, Benefits and Diversity in architecture, conducted by
the WAN Business Information Research team at World Architecture News.
As the world's largest supplier of news and information to the global architecture community, WAN is perfectly placed to
deliver the comprehensive and accurate data you've told us you need.
Developed alongside senior HR from leading firms, WAN's survey will provide comprehensive data and detailed analysis on
one of the most pressing business issues in architecture.
WAN's survey will represent data supplied direct from HR departments and management teams, not from employees or
recruitment agencies/search firms. Surveys conducted by recruitment agencies have been criticised for delivering data that
only represents the placements they've made, not the market as a whole.
Those surveys also do not benchmark salaries against similar sized practices, a key variable in WAN's survey.
Statistical analysis will be provided by a leading expert in management and organizational psychology, Dr Neil Conway.
Dr Neil Conway is Senior Lecturer in Organizational Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London. He has published widely
in the fi eld of management and organizational psychology, including several books and over 20 peer-reviewed published
articles. Most of his research uses quantitative methods, typically large scale attitude surveys.
The summary analysis will be written by California-based Marjanne Pearson.
Marjanne Pearson is the founder of Marjanne Pearson Associates a management consulting practice
focused on strategies for organizational resiliency and success. Recognized as an industry pioneer, she
has the ability to ask questions that should be on the strategic agenda of every design firm, with a remarkable
constellation of clients that includes signature architects, emergent practices, regional powerhouses, and corporate giants.

The WAN 2010 Global Salary, Benefits and Diversity Survey will enable you to:
- Evaluate the architectural profession's response to staffing during the current recession
- Compare your employees' salaries and benefits to those at architecture firms of similar size and within specific regions
- Discover the reported salary range for every type and level of position
- Learn how salaries and benefits evolve as firms increase or reduce in size > how are you going to do this?
- Evaluate salaries, benefits, and diversity on both a regional/national and an international basis.
Cost of Living statistics will be provided for each region, bringing geographic context to the results.
With reduced fluctuation in salaries expected, this survey will place significant emphasis on benefits, examining ways
companies can use benefits to provide genuine, cost-effective incentive.
Please note - Only firms that participate and provide salary, benefits and diversity information will be able to
purchase the reports.
All data will be entirely anonymous, ensuring you can provide accurate information securely.
