North Carolina Museum of Art reopens

Event Date 07/11/2010

Location North Carolina

Country United States

Description The North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA) has been dramatically transformed by two projects: the completion of the new West Building, designed to house the Museum’s distinguished collection, and the recasting of its existing East Building into a dedicated home for exhibitions and public programs.

On November 7, 2010, the renovated East Building opens to the public for the first time, offering a rich array of special exhibitions. These comprise a retrospective of work by iconic American artist and illustrator Norman Rockwell; sculpture by North Carolinian Bob Trotman; children’s book illustrations; photography by contemporary Vietnamese-American artist Binh Danh; and John James Audubon’s The Birds of America.
