THE ARBV – MELBOURNE OPEN HOUSE SPEAKER SERIES 2009

Event Date 30/06/2009

Location Melbourne

Country Australia

Description FREE

The Melbourne Open House Speaker Series for 2009 has invited 9 of Melbourne’s most prominent design professionals to discuss aspects of their work with you. Each speaker has an architectural degree and each one of them has gone on to influence the shape and character of the city of Melbourne which we live in today. Speakers will be given ten minutes to discuss their work in Melbourne. The first three speakers will focus on the need for good design and the urban design of Melbourne.

The following six speakers will then discuss a small selection of their own work in Melbourne, with an emphasis on explaining the conceptual ideas behind the built form.

We will ask every speaker to conclude their speech with an image of their favourite Melbourne building - an insight into which buildings our top professionals rank as our best. The evening will be chaired by Professor Philip Goad, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Melbourne University and the former President of the Victorian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects.

Doors open at 6pm, with presentations starting at 6.30pm. Food and drinks will be available throughout the evening.
