Exhibition opening and winners to be announced on 29 November
The prestigious AR Awards for Emerging Architecture will be presented to winning architects and designers from all over the world on 29 November at the RIBA in London. A distinguished international jury assessed over 400 entries to find three prize winners, six high commendations, nine commended schemes and six honourable mentions. Short-listed entries include projects from Japan, Chile, South Africa, Sudan, Vietnam, India, China, Bangladesh, Korea, Denmark and Spain.
The annual AR Awards are now nine years old and recognised as the world’s leading celebration of the work of young architects at the start of independent careers who are often not well known. A wide range of material from 50 countries was presented to the jury ranging from pavilions to private houses, educational buildings to offices, memorial to landscape.
The AR Awards for Emerging Architecture will be celebrated in an exhibition at the RIBA from 30 November 2007 to 29 February 2008, accompanied by a series of talks by selected winning and commended architects early next year.
