Description This special event looks at the life and achievements of the late Sir Colin St John (Sandy) Wilson RA. His intellectual, academic and cultural contribution to architecture is examined by four speakers. Juhani Pallasmaa discusses the architecture produced by Wilson throughout his long career, which spanned over 60 years. Professor Peter Blundell Jones discusses "The Other Tradition" and the influence on Wilson's thinking by architects such as Alvar Aalto. Architect Eric Parry RA talks about Wilson's longstanding relationship with Cambridge University and his dedication to architectural education. Finally Marco Livingstone, art historian and independent curator, discusses Wilson's art collection, which has now been donated to Pallant House.
