Jerry is the principal of Jerry Tate Architects and has extensive experience delivering residential, arts, education, commercial and sustainable projects. A winner of two prestigious academic awards, he has taught at Harvard University and the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London.

Obtaining his BA(Hons) at Nottingham University, Jerry subsequently completed his Diploma in Architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL where he received the Antoine Predock Design Award. He became a chartered RIBA UK architect in 2000. While completing his Masters in Architecture at Harvard University in 2007, he received the Kevin V. Kieran Award for the highest academic achievement in architecture.

During his eight years working for Grimshaw Architects, Jerry led the delivery of a number of significant projects in the UK including 'The Core' education facilities at the Eden Project in Cornwall, the refurbishment of the surrounding listed buildings at Paddington Station, London, a large section of the UCL Institute for Cancer Studies in London, and Stansted Terminal 2 in Essex.

Jerry founded Jerry Tate Architects in 2007 with a mission to explore the meeting point between architecture and nature. He leads the conceptual development and design of every project in the office. His interests range from biomimicry (the study of nature as a design tool), sustainability, advanced computer modeling and historic infrastructure. Jerry regularly teaches, writes and lectures on these subjects.
