Mike is co-Group Leader of Arup Associates and also leads engineering and sustainability in the practice, specialising in Building Services and Environmental Engineering. His leadership in sustainable thinking and engineering in projects has resulted in numerous world firsts and awards for innovative designs across many building types and scales. These include the world's first LEED Platinum data centre, first naturally ventilated television studio at Sky and first zero carbon stadium in Qatar. Driving this thinking throughout the practice has also transformed the way design is executed across the professions and which are exemplars for the industry.
Mike is a Director of Low Carbon World, sits on the editorial board of Intelligent Buildings Journal and has published widely in academic, industry and world press and also talks regularly at conferences around the world.
