Nahid Majid OBE Director Cabe at the Design Council
Nahid is an Urban Designer Town Planner and has led on the development and delivery of major capital projects within the UK and internationally. She has worked across the public and private sectors, as a Planning Officer with Local Authorities, an Urban Designer for City Challenge developing the Spitalfields Design Strategy, Urban Renaissance Manager for The Prince of Wales Foundation for The Built Environment, before joining the private sector as Associate Director of Regeneration at Turner and Townsend Construction Management, leading on large scale infrastructure projects, and sustainable place making, and was part of the legacy working group for the Olympic 2012 bid.
More recently, Nahid was a Senior Civil Servant in Government, leading on Area Initiatives and the £70 million 15 UK City Strategy Pathfinders and Localism. She represented London Local Authorities in the allocation of £60 million European Structural Funds in the European Unit in GOL. Prior to joining the Design Council in February 2012 Nahid was Director of Programme Development at The Mayors Fund for London at City Hall. Nahid has Chaired a number of Government Working Groups, and is an active volunteer and mentor.
