Hatta has worked as Senior Features Editor at House & Garden magazine for the last 6 years. Previously she spent 2 years living in Cape Town working as Features Editor of the South African edition of House & Garden and before that worked for several years in high-end residential interior design. She has an MA in History of Art from Edinburgh University and an MA in Architectural History from the Courtauld Institute of Art.
