Sarah Kay is a designer and maker of contemporary furniture and one half of the design studio Kay+Stemmer.

Sarah trained as a cabinet maker at John Makepeace's reknowned Parnham College in Dorset and on graduating set up her own business in London in 1996. In 2000 she formed a partnership with Andrea Stemmer when they were commissioned to design bespoke ranges for Cowley Manor, an award-winning luxury country house hotel in the Cotswolds. Since then they have carved a reputation for their elegant, practical designs and meticulous attention to detail.

Kay+Stemmer branched into designing for the retail market in 2006, their first collaboration being with Heal's and soon to be followed by SCP, Mark Product amongst others.
