Oliver Novakovic BSc MSc AMIM – Director of Housing Future – Housing Centre
A material engineer who has worked at BRE since 2004, Oliver is responsible for leading the energy futures, innovation & productivity and waste team within the Housing Centre.
Oliver spent his initial years in developing a patented panel system for Westbury Homes and then helped build a £20 million pound facility that produces 1 house per hour. Oliver then worked in consultancy enabling the introduction of new products into the Construction Sector. This required an in depth understanding of market needs, technical requirements and cost models for entry.
Since joining BRE Oliver has advised private and public organisations on the integration of innovation to deliver sustainable buildings. This has included working with Government Organisations such as Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and private organisations such as Barratt’s, Crest Nicholson and Bovis Lend Lease. The housing futures team are working on the application of innovation to deliver the sustainable agenda into refurbishment and new build.
