Equity Director
John McRae rejoined the London based practice ORMS Architecture Design in June 1997 after graduating from the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and was appointed an Associate in April 2002, before becoming Equity Director in 2005.
John has experience in a variety of sectors that include workplace, education, residential, leisure and healthcare and his passion is creating a built environment that contributes to the users well being and is sensitive to their individual and collective needs. John was responsible for the award winning workplaces at No1 Cornhill, London for Corpnex, Capital One HQ, Nottingham and MediaCom HQ in London. John recently completed 20 Gracechurch Street in the City of London.
Over the last 7 years he has worked closely with the Teenage Cancer Trust to develop a design blueprint for their developments throughout the UK and is currently working on a new facility in Cambridge. The Skypad Cardiff, completed last year, is the charities fi rst new build and demonstrates how clinical and non clinical functions work within an environment sensitive to teenagers needs.
John is a member of the TCT Corporate Fund Raising Committee, RIBA Health Client Forum and the LEEMAC Clinic, a pioneering Integrated Healthcare Centre in Scotland that will integrate the best of traditional medical and complementary care under one roof. This scheme is currently being designed and will be operational within the next 12 months.
