Diane Metcalfe, BA(Hons), BArch, RIBA
Diane has worked for internationally renowned architectural practice Grimshaw for 14 years and was made an Associate Director in 2010. She has been involved in a wide variety of complex projects including several commercial buildings and transport interchanges.
Diane has been responsible for developing a 525,000 sq ft office scheme, the St Botolph's Building, in the City of London for developers Minerva which has just reached completion. Diane's role built upon the experience gained as architect of the £105 million 125 Old Broad Street project, in which she obtained planning consent for redevelopment of the former London Stock Exchange site into a city centre office development.
Many of the projects in Diane's work portfolio incorporate existing buildings. She designed the conversion of a mill grain silo into a new Headquarters within the Cambridge CB1 Masterplan area, worked on the sensitive restoration of five listed buildings for Thermae Bath Spa and is currently working on the Cutty Sark Conservation Project.
Her career has focused extensively on co-ordination: her roles on the £250 million multi-use Battersea Power Station and the Rolls-Royce Manufacturing Plant concentrated on a strategic level.
