The global architecture community is reeling from the surprise outcome of last week’s EU referendum and the possible wider fallout. The implications for individuals, architecture firms and the entire construction industry are clearly huge. There are no winners.
From our unrivalled contact with architects, through our judges, our events, our research and day to day flow of news, we can report that the almost universal reaction to the news of 24th June is a mood of dismay, disappointment, shock, bewilderment and frustration at a retrograde step in the progress of international relations and trade.
Over the last ten years since I co-founded WAN with Richard Coleman, we have fought to deliver impartial, informed news, fought to reinvent ourselves through global recession, and fought to promote architects and good architecture in a positive light, in this we will continue.
