Polshek Partnership now Ennead Architects

Polshek Partnership announced today that it is changing its name to Ennead Architects. The new name, which is taken from the Greek to mean a group of nine in reference to the firm’s nine partners, and ‘expresses the aspirations of the practice as an innovative, collaborative and ever-evolving studio environment’ the company said in a press release.

In conjunction with the name change, the firm is creating Ennead Lab, a private foundation dedicated to research, education and advocacy that will provide pro-bono services. Founded 47 years ago by James Stewart Polshek, who is now retired and serves as Design Council to Ennead, Polshek Partnership is widely recognised as a top American design practice. Among the firm’s notable projects is the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas, and the Standard Hotel in New York’s Meatpacking District.
