Vinoly in talks to design £1bn development for Manchester City football club

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the owners of Manchester City football club are in talks with renowned architect Rafael Vinoly to design a £1bn sports and leisure complex on a 200-acre site at Eastlands. All plans are currently firmly under wraps although the design is expected to include a £5m training complex, a five-star hotel, restaurants, bars and a museum or art gallery. Gordon Brown had previously ear-marked the space for a super-casino.
