Daniel Libeskind receives honorary degree from University of Kentucky

This weekend, controversial starchitect Daniel Libeskind accepted an honorary doctorate from the University of Kentucky, during the institution’s 143rd commencement ceremony. Also awarded honorary degrees were newspaper editor Judith G. Clabes and alcoholism researcher Robert Straus.

Libeskind taught at the University’s College of Architecture as an assistant professor from 1973 to 1975, and more recently completed his award winning Ascent at Roebling’s Bridge, a 20-storey residential tower in the Southern state. Libeskind said: “It is an honour made more meaningful by our shared history to be recognised by the University of Kentucky.”
