Andre Kikoski wins James Beard Award

Deemed “the Oscars of the food world” by Time magazine, the James Beard Foundation Awards are the country’s most coveted honor for chefs; food and beverage professionals, broadcast media, journalists and authors working on food; and restaurant architects and designers. On May 3, the James Beard award for best restaurant design in North America since January 1, 2007 was awarded to Andre Kikoski Architect for his design of The Wright. Located in New York City's Guggenheim Museum, The Wright opened in December 2009. The restaurant is a modern homage to the museum’s legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Kikoski, a young architect, transformed a generic cafeteria into an inviting dining space that evokes the movement and lines of Wright’s iconic museum.
