The 2011 International Design Alliance World Congress is expected to see 3,000 world designers from 60 countries congregate. The congress will be the first of its kind since the 2007 formation of the IDA which is a strategic venture between the international organisations representing design formed to see the design community working together for a world that is balanced, inclusive and sustainable. In 2008 the IDA welcomed the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers as its third partner. The congress, to be held on 24 Oct 2011 will be one of 50 design events taking place in Taipei in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of China (not to be confused with the People's Republic of China), designated the 'Year of Design'.
