Peter Barber sets out ideas to solve the housing crisis

In the run up to the WAN Urban Challenge Task Force Peter Barber of Peter Barber Architects sets out his ideas that will help solve the housing crisis.

"My contribution to the (Urban Challenge) debate can be summarised in three simple easily achievable elements of policy.

1. Introduce rent controls

2. End the ’right to buy’ policy

3. Instigate a huge social housing programme funded by direct taxation.

Put together these three policies would end the housing crisis immediately."
