Nerin Kadribegovic named partner at Lehrer Architects

Michael B. Lehrer, FAIA, President and Founding Partner of Lehrer Architects, has announced that Nerin Kadribegovic, AIA, has become a Partner.

In being named a Partner, Nerin Kadribegovic becomes the first employee at Lehrer Architects to assume this role alongside Michael Lehrer.

Nerin joined Lehrer Architects in 2002 while a graduate student at Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc).  He progressively assumed greater project design responsibilities with Lehrer Architects and in 2009, alongside Michael, added management of the firm to his responsibilities as Director of Operations.  In 2011 he was named a Principal of the award-winning architecture and design firm.

"I founded Lehrer Architects in 1985 with the belief that architecture is a primal pleasure and that beauty is a rudiment of human dignity,” explains Michael.  My goal was, and remains, to make architecture that touches people's lives, elevates the everyday and joyously celebrates community.  When interviewing Nerin, still a graduate student then, we immediately resonated about the vital role of beauty, art, making, and place in people's lives.  Since joining the firm in 2002, Nerin has embraced the firm's vision and has dramatically enhanced how we deliver.”

The success of Lehrer Architects continues to be the talented team of professionals who collectively and individually raise the bar every day.  As Michael states, “Nerin's leadership in the design practice and the firm, especially now as a Partner, brings his collective and individual talents into greater focus for our future endeavors.”

Lehrer Architects’ influential engagement with the Southern California architecture and design community is largely credited to Nerin's drive for effective business practices and project delivery, both for the firm and more importantly, for the firm’s clients and partners. “Nerin drives our studio to push design boundaries and effectively engage past, present and potential clients, nurturing an agile and effective architectural practice,” explains Michael.

Notably, Nerin is also recognized for his leadership in designing a model for affordable residences.  A recent Lehrer Architects’ project with the non-profit group Restore Neighborhood Los Angeles garnered national media attention and several awards.  In addition, Nerin’s independent, entrepreneurial interests in residential property development expand upon his design credentials.

Nerin received a Master of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture following a Bachelor of Architecture from University of Utah, Salt Lake City.   He also completed post-graduate studies in Parametric Architecture at UIC Barcelona School of Architecture (Universitat Internacional de Catalunya).  Nerin has served on the Board of Trustees at SCI-Arc and he continues his involvement with the school’s Alumni Council.  He is also a member of the American Institute of Architects.

Inspired by his two young children, Nerin recently designed an award winning and internationally exhibited line of children's furniture.  He lives with his wife and children in the Glassell Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
