Perkins+Will welcomes international healthcare leader Jeff Davenport

Global architecture and design firm Perkins+Will have announced that healthcare industry leader Jeff Davenport has joined the organisation. Based out of Perkins+Will’s Washington, D.C. office, Davenport will help grow the firm’s healthcare practice worldwide, drawing on more than 25 years of experience in planning, designing, and delivering complex medical facilities around the globe. These include a 4,000-bed medical city in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Children’s Cancer Hospital in Cairo, Egypt; and a 1-million-square-foot U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Las Vegas.

“Jeff is a consummate healthcare design professional: his knowledge spans the full breadth of service offerings in this sector, from strategic planning and operations to medical equipment and technology,” says Perkins+Will President and CEO Phil Harrison. “Jeff’s track record for delivering exceptional client service on complex health sciences projects will be an asset for both the firm and our clients.”

Additionally, Davenport’s familiarity with the entire spectrum of healthcare models worldwide makes him a knowledgeable and trusted resource for Perkins+Will global client base, according to Perkins+Will International Strategy Director Richard Marshall.

“Although he will call our Washington, D.C. office ‘home,’ Jeff will be instrumental in driving new business across the U.S. and overseas, partnering with leading clients to realize their visions,” Marshall says.

Beyond health sciences, Davenport’s planning and design experience includes laboratories, transportation hubs, and large-scale design-builds. Seminal projects include the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Md.; a metro station entrance at The Pentagon in Arlington, Va.; and major renovations on four of The Pentagon’s wedges.

“I chose to join Perkins+Will because there are no limits to what I can accomplish here, in terms of geography, project type, design quality, or innovation. And I like that entrepreneurial, go-getter spirit,” says Davenport. “I look forward to helping grow business for what is already a world-renowned brand and established healthcare leader.”

Davenport holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in architecture from the University of Nebraska.
