St George welcomes NAWIC to Battersea Reach

On 19 January, residential developer St George welcomed over 20 guests to its Battersea Reach riverside development in Wandsworth, London. The visit was part of an over-subscribed event organised to raise awareness of employment opportunities for women in the UK construction industry. The event was hosted in partnership with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and was attended by representatives from Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, Savills and CZWG, among others.

Following an introduction and development overview by Judith Salomon, Director at St George, and the technical team, the guests were given a tour of the latest phases of Battersea Reach, including Pinnacle Tower which is currently under construction.

Cristina Lanz Azcarate, NAWIC UK, London and South East Chair, said: “We believe that an important part of what we are trying to achieve requires sharing best practice and raising awareness of the contribution that each individual makes to the project. In this context, site visits offer our members an opportunity to appreciate how their work fits into the wider scheme of things and to those working on the front end of projects, gives them a chance to reconnect with the ultimate goal.”
