Architecture firm 3XN has announced the appointment of Morten Stahlschmidt as new Managing Director and the promotion of six architects to Partner: Stig Vesterager Gothelf, Jeanette Hansen, Fred Holt, Marie Hesseldahl Larsen, Audun Opdal and Torben Østergaard. Stahlschmidt replaces retiring CEO Bo Boje Larsen and assumes his new role on 5 January.
Larsen will continue to serve as a member of 3XN’s Board and remain active in the management of select projects. Coinciding with the staff changes, the firm relocated to a new, 2,000 sq m studio at the historic Gunboat Yards on the island of Holmen in Copenhagen on 1 December.
3XN’s senior leadership chose to recruit and elevate staff in response to growing demand for its design services. “We have increasing requests for our work both at home in Scandinavia and globally,” explained Founding Partner and Creative Director Kim Herforth Nielsen.
“This expansion of our leadership team enables us to best meet this demand and supports the ongoing development and innovation of our architecture leading up to our 30th anniversary in 2016.” The creative leadership of 3XN will remain with the three senior partners Kim Herforth Nielsen, Jan Ammundsen, and Kasper Guldager Jensen.
