Work starts on Chipperfield's Palais Varnhagen

Construction has commenced on the David Chipperfield-designed Palais Varnhagen in the Mitte district of Berlin. Destined for completion in summer 2016, a number of the apartments have already been snapped up by international buyers from the UAE, China, Singapore and Mexico.

49 salon apartments ranging from 57 to 278 sq m are on offer, with the possibility to combine adjoining units into grand residences. There are also three two-storey penthouses on the 6th and 7th floors, with the sixth floor benefitting from a large terrace. An additional roof terrace can be found on the 8th floor.

At the core of the development is a courtyard designed by Hamburg-based landscape architects Breimann & Bruun as a ‘fairy garden’. The development will also integrate contemporary artworks as is custom for developers Artprojekt, who are working in tandem with Baywobau.
