Jane Duncan selected as next President of the Royal Institute of British Architects

Jane Duncan has been announced as the next President of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and will act as President Elect from 1 September 2014 before taking over from current President Stephen Hodder on 1 September 2015. Duncan is the Director of Jane Duncan Architects which she established in 1992.

In her manifesto, Duncan pledged to accomplish three goals in her term as RIBA President: restore pride in being an architect and in the creative and influential work we do; drive up fees through campaigning for payment appropriate to skills and expertise; and improve diversity in the profession to ensure our long term financial success and sustainability.

Speaking on the announcement, Duncan said: “I am delighted to be elected and to have the mandate from RIBA members to undertake my election pledges on improving pride, fees and diversity within the architecture profession. Over the next year I will be working hard to support Stephen Hodder and visiting and talking to members and staff across the UK.”
