The co-founder of LA DALLMAN Architects has been appointed as Full Professor at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD), Department of Architecture. Announced on 1 March by the Dean of Harvard GSD Mohsen Mostafavi, Grace La, who is also the Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) School of Architecture & Urban Planning, will take up the tenure on 1 July of this year.
The firm LA DALLMAN, which Grace La founded together with James Dallman, has received over forty professional architecture honours and awards, including Design Awards from the American Institute of Architects, The Rice Design Alliance Award and the Merit Award for Design Excellence. Speaking about the decision, Grace La said: “I am honoured with this appointment and for the opportunity to further advance my pedagogy. James and I are grateful for the continuing support of our clients, colleagues, and community collaborators, who have allowed us to innovate on contemporary architectural challenges.”
Completed projects by LA DALLMAN Architects include the Miller Brewing Meeting Centre, the Marsupial Bridge, the UWM Hillel Student Centre, and the Levy House. Mohsen Mostafavi remarked: “Professor La’s expertise in the integration of building, infrastructure, and landscape will add a significant dimension to our programme and its global community. We are delighted that she will join our faculty.”
