WAN AWARDS Civic Sector announcement

This year WAN hosted it's Civic Sector jury in New York, run by our US Correspondent Sharon McHugh. With only 33 days to go until the inaugural World Architecture Day event in Cannon Place, London we have decided to hold off on the winners' announcement until the big day.

First established by the International Union of Architects (UIA) back in 2005, World Architecture Day is set to become an essential fixture on the architecture calendar. And this year will be no exception. Drawing from its internationally acclaimed awards programme, World Architecture News is bringing together some of the world's most renowned architects, designers and developers from across the globe for a celebration of architectural excellence.

Speakers include: Will Alsop, ALL Design; Kai-Uwe Bergmann, Bjarke Ingels Group who also sat on our Civic Award jury panel; Sir Jeremy Dixon, Dixon Jones; Manuelle Gautrand, Manuelle Gautrand Architecture; John Nordon, Woods Bagot; Sunand Prasad, Penoyre Prasad; Ken Shuttleworth, Make Architects; Rafael Viñoly, Rafael Vinoly Architects PC; and Malou Juelskjaer, Associate Professor at the University of Aarhus, Denmark.
