Work begins on tallest residential building in The Philippines (Broadway Malyan)

Construction has commenced on the Trump Tower Manila in the Philippines’ second most populous city. The building reaches 250m into the sky and will provide 220 luxury residential units. Sustainability plays an important role in the scheme with an environmentally-responsive skin boasting light shelves and shading systems, and a low surface to volume ratio hoping to reduce energy consumption.

Director Ian Simpson, who has led the practice’s team, said: “Ground breaking is a major milestone in the delivery of this landmark project, which has drawn on the skills, expertise and experience of our world-class design team working in partnership with the client, with the tower set to redefine lifestyle living in Asia as well as the Makati skyline."
