London’s Leicester Square redevelopment complete

Work has now completed on the redevelopment of London’s Leicester Square. SIAC Construction Ltd was appointed by Westminster City Council in 2010 to create a new stone paving system with grey and black granite paving quarried from France and China, insert white granite ribbon seating and realise a series of dancing fountains. An astounding 125 million visitors flocked through Leicester Square during the construction period.

Director of SIAC Construction Ltd, John Geoghegan, detailed: “This was a complex, difficult project with unique challenges requiring a dedicated management team, many of whom moved over from Ireland. We worked in close co-operation with Westminster City Council, the Leicester Square stakeholders and traders to deliver this project successfully. We at SIAC take pride in taking on and delivering logistically challenging projects such as this.”
