Autodesk and Balfour Beatty sign $12m agreement

International infrastructure group Balfour Beatty has signed a major deal with Autodesk, Inc. in one of the industry's largest contracts. The $12m agreement will last three years and is viewed as a representation of Balfour Beatty's commitment to a more economical and more environmentally-friendly approach to design.

Chief Executive of Balfour Beatty, Ian Tyler, explains: "Innovation and efficiency are at the heart of our strategy and this agreement sets Balfour Beatty apart from its competitors. It extends across all of our capabilities and markets, from infrastructure investment and professional services to construction and on-going built asset management."

The firm have used BIM in the past on their San Francisco Bay Bridge scheme and during the replacement of Terminal 2 at London Heathrow International Airport.
