Shortlist announced for Moscow Agglomeration Master Plan Strategy to increase city by 50%

The shortlist has been announced for a major masterplanning scheme to increase the size of Moscow by 148,000 hectares - approximately 50%. Ten collaborating groups have been selected from seventy entries, including OMA, Devereux Architects, Siemens AG, Urban Design Associates, McAdam Architects and Buro Happold.

Last year, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that the Moscow Government would be enlisting the help of architects and urban planners to expand the city into 148,000 hectares of land to the south-east of the city. Tomorrow morning, official papers will be signed on the ten shortlisted teams which include:
