New blog offers technical specialists advice on how to use social media for everything except marketing

Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and StumbleUpon are used as a matter of course by those seeking extra publicity for a new project or innovative product design, but these informal outlets offer much more besides a stand for self-promotion. Global B2B Communications Social Media is a new blog run by Amy Munice, founder of Global B2B Communications, and a host of guest bloggers, which explains how technical specialists in the arts can utilise social networks for everything except marketing.

Munice explains: “I don’t think that I’m the only one who is getting bombarded with solicitations by self-proclaimed social media marketing ‘experts’ and so-called educational materials on that subject that are incredibly light on real content. What’s missing is a spotlight on how social networking can be a very valuable tool for manufacturing and product development, cultivating informed discussions on technical insights, and how editors of technical and trade publications can listen in to social networks to find good story fodder and help their readers do a better job at staying up-to-date and informed about emerging technologies and best practices. We aim to fill that gap.”
