Michael Hammond talks to Hamish Monk of Hamish Monk Architecture about his winning project in the 2012 WAN AWARDS Commercial Sector (unbuilt). The Hopuhopu Tribal Centre is a concept design which masterplans an area in Waikato District, New Zealand for the Waikato Tainui tribe (approx. 60,000 people), incorporating sports and leisure facilities, a tribal parliament/admin and media centre, river centre and gallery, Waka Marina, and carving school.
