Belatchew Arkitekter have won the competition to construct a symbolic building in Hagastaden, Stockholm
Named the HagaTwist, in reference to its twisted shape, this unique building, designed by Belatchew Arkitekter, will serve as a meeting place for those who live in, work in, and visit the up-and-coming Hagastaden area.  The Hagastaden area is one of Stockholm’s largest and most important urban development projects. By 2025, the area will be built and developed into an entirely new neighbourhood with a mixture of apartments, offices, cultural attractions, green areas and a world leading research centre and highly specialised medical care.  The new building will accommodate a restaurant and rooftop terrace. The HagaTwist also refers to the DNA helix to reflect the area’s life science theme. The lightweight wood structure covers an area of approximately 700 sq m and will be partly built on two levels.
